In addition to our in-town recreation program, SLYB provides boys and girls in grades 4th through 8th from Kingston, Halifax and Plympton the opportunity to participate in a competitive travel league.  The boys travel teams consist of players from Kingston, Halifax, and Plympton. The girls travel teams only consist of players from Kingston.

The Silver Lake teams are chosen after tryouts are completed at each grade level.  Players are evaluated based on their individual and team basketball skills.  Participation on these teams will require an extended commitment.  It is expected that all team members be at all practices, games and tournaments.  Please consider the increased time commitment for practice and games when deciding whether your child will try out for a travel team.  
 
The season runs from the beginning of November to mid-March.  In addition, each boys and girls travel team will participate in two weekend tournaments.  All teams will play in post-season playoffs.  

The fee for SLYB travel basketball is $255.  For new travel players or players that require an updated uniform there is an additional cost of $40.  Financial assistance and family discounts are available upon request and approval by the SLYB Board of Directors.
